Technology and data

The contracts, licences and compliance behind technology products in Oman.

What this covers

Oman's Personal Data Protection Law, issued by Royal Decree 6/2022, entered full enforcement on 5 February 2026. Its Executive Regulation, Ministerial Decision 34/2024, sets the operational detail: how consent is captured, how quickly a data subject request must be answered, and when a permit is needed before processing sensitive data. For technology companies this stopped being theoretical.

What we do

  • Personal data compliance under the PDPL and its Executive Regulation
  • Data subject request handling and breach response procedures
  • Cross-border data transfer arrangements
  • Software, SaaS and platform licensing
  • Technology development and services agreements
  • Intellectual property protection and assignment
  • Electronic transactions and e-signature validity
  • Reseller, distribution and channel agreements

How we approach it

Compliance work that produces a policy nobody follows is wasted money. We write procedures the business can actually run, and we test them against what the regulation requires rather than what a template assumes.

Awaiting firm input Representative matters in this practice will appear here once supplied. See assets-needed/matters.md.
