Terms of use

1. About these terms
This website is operated by Faisal Al Rashdi Advocates & Legal Consultants, a law firm registered in the Sultanate of Oman. By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. No legal advice
The content of this website is general information about Omani law. It is not legal advice and must not be relied on as legal advice.
Law changes, and general commentary cannot account for the facts of your situation. Nothing here is a substitute for advice on your own position. If you need advice, speak to us or to another qualified lawyer.
3. No lawyer-client relationship
Using this website, reading our published articles, or sending us an enquiry does not create a lawyer-client relationship between you and FALC.
We act for a client only once:
- a conflict check has been completed;
- terms of engagement have been agreed in writing; and
- we have confirmed that we are able to act.
Until all three have happened, please do not send us confidential or time-sensitive information. We cannot guarantee that information sent before an engagement is in place will be treated as confidential, and sending it may itself create a conflict that prevents us from acting.
4. Accuracy and currency
We take care over what we publish, and our articles carry the date of publication and the date of last update. Even so, the law moves, and we do not warrant that everything on this site is current or complete at the moment you read it. We are not liable for any action taken in reliance on this website.
5. Intellectual property
The content of this website, including text, articles, the FALC name, the FALC logo and mark, and the design of the site, belongs to FALC or is used under licence.
You may read, download and print material from this site for your own use, and you may quote from our articles with attribution to FALC and a link to the source. You may not republish our material as your own, use it commercially, or use our name, logo or mark without our written permission.
Third-party trade marks referred to on this site belong to their owners.
6. Links
Where we link to another website we do so for convenience. We do not control those sites, and a link is not an endorsement of their content, their products, or their privacy practices.
7. Availability
We do not guarantee that this website will be available without interruption or free from error. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Omani law, FALC is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, this website, or from reliance on anything published on it.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Your use of the site
You agree not to use this website unlawfully, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, to interfere with its operation, or to use it to transmit anything harmful. Misuse of an information system is an offence under Omani law.
10. Electronic communications
Communications sent through this website are electronic communications for the purposes of the Electronic Transactions Law issued by Royal Decree 69/2008.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. The courts of the Sultanate of Oman have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
